On this the last day of February I still cannot report that I'm back online yet since, even though I took receipt of my new laptop a couple weeks ago, it was my misfortune that when I began the process of reinstalling all my software, I was unable to find the packets that had the original install CDs in them. My best guess is that I accidentally threw them out when I moved to my new condo 2-1/2 years ago. Instead of spending hundreds of dollars to purchase all new programs and all new licenses, I've been exploring other options.

Still offline
My 7th day offline now since my laptop crashed. I was supposed to have it back yesterday but my tech informed me Friday it cannot be fixed. The 12 year old Toshiba is just too old. The problem is not enough memory and cannot be expanded so cannot be upgraded to Windows 10 which makes it vulnerable to all sorts of attacks (likely the cause of the crash), so another crash is just a disaster waiting to happen.
He’s building me a refurbished Lenovo laptop which will be like new and for only $300 plus labor. It’ll likely be another week before it’ s ready so it’s another week of being offline. That’s okay. I’m enjoying the break. These posts are important but they’re also a labor.
