World shares edge down, US yields fall as markets eye earnings,

The markets took a breather today with the three indexes moving
up and down several times during the session but ultimately closing near
break-even modestly in the red. Alphabet came in better than expected but
Tesla’s profits sank a whopping 45%. PCE is coming on Friday and, as today’s expert
put it, “The market is in a show-me-the-money stage.” Sitting on the fence
awaiting more data, volume came in below average at 10.6 billion.
