Yesterday there was a rally that may have been based on optimism over positive news from the Fed coming Wednesday when they will be delivering the added benefit of a report on economic projections, giving the market a much desired clearer picture of how Trump’s policies, particularly regarding tariffs, will impact the economy. Today, there was a lot more caution in the air as investors now are hedging their bets against not so great news.

It was a straight shot down from the morning bell with again substantial 3-digit losses that stayed there the rest of the day. The S&P and Nasdaq have been in correction and the Dow is just 2% shy of correction. Today’s expert once again reiterated the environment, “There is a lot of confusion out there, and when there’s confusion, when there isn’t a real opportunity for stocks to go up and for companies to expand and make more money, there’s fear.” The market is betting on less confusion tomorrow.  At 13.4 billion, volume remains considerably below the 16.4 billion average.
