More good Q1 news combined with an Israel-Lebanon ceasefire and a new promise of renewed talks with Iran shot the indexes up for a fourth straight day and though gains were modest on the tech side, any gains meant another record breaking day and the longest Nasdaq winning streak in 17 years. But until the war is actually over, there is still plenty of uncertainty.

That translates to today’s very choppy market swinging wildly back and forth several times between modest gains and break-even as investors balance both positive and neutral headlines.  New unemployment claims were lower showing continued job market stability but tempered by a crimp in new hiring due to the chaotic economic environment. Wall Street continues to place all its bets on a quick end to the war. But will this optimism last? Volume continues to creep ever closer to the 19.1 billion 4-week average coming in today at 18.5 billion.
