Market Reset

This week's edition of WealthTrack raises the question that, after years of poor fixed income performance and advisors cautioning clients to avoid the tradition 60/40 stock/bond allocation formula, with the massive change in fixed income returns that traditional "safe assets" are back. So perhaps it is time to reset our portfolios.  This issue gets discussed with Mark Cortazzo who calls for a major realignment in portfolios. Enjoy the weekend.

MARKET RESET

Dear WEALTHTRACK Subscriber,

Remember last year when the traditional balanced portfolio of 60% stocks and 40% bonds was declared “obsolete” by many financial commentators? It certainly failed to deliver the goods,  declining about 16% in 2022. Contrary to historical experience, the bond portion didn’t offset the stock declines as bonds suffered their worst losses ever.

This week’s WEALTHTRACK guest says with the rapid rise in interest rates there has been a massive change in fixed income returns and that traditional safe assets are back.

That means it’s time to reset portfolios.

We’ll be joined by Mark Cortazzo, Senior Vice President and Financial Advisor with the Wealth Enhancement Group, an independent financial planning firm he merged his MACRO Consulting Group with in 2021.

Cortazzo founded MACRO Consulting, an independent investment advisory firm in 1992.  He has received numerous awards and accolades including being named a Barron’s Top Advisor for thirteen years.

We are also delighted that he has been a frequent WEALTHTRACK guest since our 2005 inception.

On the show this week, Cortazzo describes what he calls the massive reset in returns, calling for a major realignment in portfolios.

If you miss the show on public television, you can watch it on our website over the weekend, along with our past programs and our guests’ One Investment recommendations.  You can also find the WEALTHTRACK podcast on Stitcher and SoundCloud as well as iTunes and Spotify.

Have a super weekend and make the week ahead a healthy, profitable and productive one.

Best regards,

Consuelo
